Tailored Support
If your child has an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), please provide a brief overview. This helps us align our care with your child’s specific needs and offer the most effective support. For any concerns or questions about these plans, feel free to reach out for guidance.
Tailored Curriculum
My Montessori-inspired program offers daily, age-appropriate activities aligned with MSDE guidelines to support your child's educational growth. I have created a unique curriculum focused on developmental readiness to ensure each child receives the best possible care and education. By incorporating evidence-based practices such as "The Science of Reading" and other strategies, I create robust lessons that foster learning and development across a variety of interests and topics.
Meal Time
To ensure your child's learning and development remains my primary focus, I provide two daily snacks and milk at lunchtime for all children, unless dietary restrictions are present. Families are required to pack prepared lunches following U.S. dietary guidelines for children, as I adhere to strict nutritional guidelines to ensure balanced nutrition for all children in my care. For infants under 18 months, families must supply all food items until they are cleared for "table food" and other generalized snacks. Please inform me of any food allergies and provide an action plan along with any necessary medications.
Outdoor Play
I prioritize outdoor play to allow children to explore nature, develop physical skills, and foster a connection with their environment. Weather permitting, we play outside daily, so please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. I recommend durable, easy-to-clean clothing for their comfort and convenience.
At KC Childcare, children are not required to be potty trained to attend my program. Potty training will begin when children show signs of readiness, such as controlling their bladder and bowel movements, and expressing a willingness to learn. When the time comes, I believe in a collaborative approach between myself and families to support your child's potty training journey.
Children will wear pull-ups or “strap-free” diapers, until they are accident-free for two consecutive weeks, with frequent reminders to use the potty. Please dress your child in loose-fitting clothing that they can manage independently to make the process easier.
For sanitation purposes, children who have repeated accidents during the day will be moved to a pull-up/diaper or need to be picked up. Please note that for safety and hygiene reasons, I cannot wash soiled clothing; instead, soiled items will be placed in a plastic bag for you to take home. During nap time, children will wear a pull-up or diaper until they are fully potty trained.
Open and honest communication between families and myself is essential throughout the potty training process. Together, we can help your child achieve this important milestone.
